Carson Beck returning to Georgia for senior season: ‘The NFL can wait one more year’

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is returning to Athens for his senior season.

He made the announcement on social media.

“My friends and family have helped put me in a situation to have options for my future,” Beck on the program’s “X” account. “However, the NFL can wait one more year. I am returning to UGA for my senior season. We need everyone’s support in Miami to close this season out the right way!”

Beck started 13 games for Georgia this past season, leading the Bulldogs to a 12-1 record. Beck had 3,738 passing yards and 22 touchdowns while completing 72 percent of his passes for Georgia (12-1), which fell to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game to miss out on the CFP.

He earned second team All-SEC honors for his performance and was a finalist for the Manning Award.
